From March 25-27, NSSGA’s AGG1 & World of Asphalt (WoA) Exhibition took over St. Louis for an exciting showcase of innovation, education, and industry connections. More than 11,500 professionals from across the world gathered at the America’s Center Convention Complex to explore cutting-edge solutions, discuss key industry trends, and exchange insights on the future of aggregates and asphalt.

For CheckProof, the exhibition also provided the perfect backdrop to announce the registration of our U.S. subsidiary, CheckProof U.S. Inc. The press conference, hosted by, CheckProof’s CEO, Håkan Holmgren, garnered a lot of attention from both media and visitors. We had numerous conversations with visitors eager to see firsthand how CheckProof helps teams carry out inspections, maintenance, and compliance routines more efficiently - reducing delays, cutting paperwork, and keeping equipment running at full capacity.

The show had countless highlights AND a surprise ranking result on Volvo’s simulator - carry on reading to see the result and a summary of our key takeaways!

Major Product Innovations & Exhibitor Announcements

This year’s show was boosted by a significant expansion in exhibit space and therefore allowed even more space for the latest innovations and equipment within aggregates and asphalt. Some highlights included:

  • Metso's Next-Gen Nordberg HPe Series Cone Crushers: Expanding its range with the HP600e, HP800e, and HP900e models, Metso introduced crushers with enhanced performance, uptime, and serviceability for high-demand mining and aggregates applications.
  • Swedish Engineering on Display with Volvo CE: We were proud to see fellow Swedes, Volvo Construction Equipment showcasing their latest models—the A50 Articulated Hauler and L260 Wheel Loader. Their operator simulator drew thousands of visitors, and our CEO Håkan Holmgren, despite not being in the cab for over a decade, landed an impressive 17th place among hundreds of participants. Not bad for a guy who traded machines for meetings!
  • IntelliShift: Unveiled an advanced asset-tracking system designed to optimize equipment utilization and prevent misuse.

Education & Expert Insights

The collaborative nature of several associations contributing to the show meant that a mindboggling 120 educational sessions covering essential topics for industry professionals could be offered. Some of the most popular seminars included:

  • "Autonomous Quarry Trucks 101" – Exploring the rise of automation in quarry operations.
  • "Extreme Ownership for Business and Life" – Leadership strategies for industry professionals.
  • "Compaction 101: Doing the Right Things, the Right Way" – Best practices in asphalt compaction.

These sessions provided actionable insights for attendees looking to stay ahead of industry shifts and implement new strategies in their operations, helping drive their businesses forward.

CheckProof at AGG1 & WoA

The show didn’t just provide opportunities to meet with customers and industry colleagues, but also members of the media. This year, AGG1 & WoA introduced a Media Matchup event – where CheckProof was one of the companies selected to participate. CheckProof also chose the show venue to announce the opening of our first U.S. office in Houston, Texas, coinciding with the registration of our subsidiary, CheckProof U.S. Inc.

Throughout AGG1, we had valuable conversations with industry professionals about the evolving approach to aggregate and asphalt maintenance moving to digitization. Some key takeaways from our interactions:

  • Interest in Digital Transformation: Attendees were keen to learn how CheckProof’s platform could digitize their maintenance workflows and improve compliance tracking.
  • Positive Feedback on Simplicity & Efficiency: Many of the visitors appreciated CheckProof’s user-friendly interface and its ability to reduce administrative burdens.
  • Mini Quarry Draws Big Attention: Our hand-made mini quarry with remote-controlled mini quarry models was a crowd favorite—sparking conversations, smiles, and hands-on engagement while demonstrating real-world workflows in a fun and engaging way.

Beyond the Expo: Networking & Events

AGG1 wasn’t just about business—it also provided numerous opportunities for networking and industry connection:

  • Gala Dinner & NSSGA Annual Convention: These high-profile events brought together industry executives to discuss policy, market trends, and the future of aggregates.
  • Rock & Road Reception: A highlight of the event, featuring live music and a relaxed atmosphere for attendees to unwind and connect.
  • Conn-Weld’s 50th Anniversary Celebration: CheckProof’s sales managers Josh Cage and Kyle Hunter joined Conn-Weld’s special evening event, celebrating the company’s 50th anniversary with industry peers during the exhibition—a great opportunity to connect and congratulate a long-standing leader in the field.

AGG1 2025 & World of Asphalt (WoA) reinforced the importance of digital solutions in aggregates maintenance, validating our approach as we continue expanding in the U.S. market. Moving forward, the insights gained from this event will help shape future product developments, ensuring CheckProof remains at the forefront of industry innovation.

CheckProof appreciated the warm welcome from NSSGA (National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association) - it's clear they go the extra mile to make new members feel part of the community. As we deepen our involvement with NSSGA and industry partners, we’re excited to continue driving efficiency and reliability for aggregate operations.

And make sure to mark your calendars as World of Asphalt and AGG1 returns in 2027 when the show travels to New Orleans, March 15-17, 2027. If you missed us at the show, let’s talk—get in touch to see how CheckProof can transform your aggregates and asphalt operations!

How to Choose the Right Work Order App for Your Industry
When something breaks on site, the fix gets most of the attention, but it’s rarely where things go wrong. What’s just as critical is everything around it: who reported it, who picked it up, what got missed between shifts, and how long it sat before anyone acted. In many operations, that whole flow is still held together by paper forms, radio calls, and memory.

Best Practices for Work Order Management
Efficient maintenance starts with clear work orders. When issues are logged quickly with the right details, photos, and priority, teams spend less time chasing information and more time fixing problems. The result is reduced downtime, smoother shift handovers, and audit-ready operations — even in low-signal or harsh environments where mobile work orders let crews flag issues before they escalate.

Predictive Maintenance vs Condition-Based Maintenance
Walk any quarry, plant, or yard and you’ll see the same thing: assets and equipment emitting tell-tale signs of its condition, long before it actually fails. Operators note “sounds off” on a pre-shift, but the note gets buried in a binder or a spreadsheet. The gap between seeing a problem and acting on it at the right time is often where maintenance strategies break down.

Fault Tree Analysis 101 – A Comprehensive Guide
Equipment rarely fails for a single reason. Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) helps teams work backwards from a breakdown, separate symptoms from causes, and identify what needs to change to prevent repeat failures.

Holcim’s Torr Works Super Quarry – a Customer Success Story
On a quarry as large and complex as Holcim’s Torr Works, staying on top of daily work is a constant challenge. When information is scattered across paper, radios, and emails, even small issues can take too long to act on. This customer story looks at how Torr Works brought everything into one connected system with CheckProof – and what happened when visibility and ownership became part of everyday site work.

Downtime Reduction: How OEE, MTBF & MTTR Help You Stay Ahead
Reducing downtime starts with understanding why assets fail, how often they fail, and how teams respond. In aggregates, mining, ready-mix, trucking, and industrial plants, that insight is scattered across systems, paperwork, and the practical knowledge of operators who know which bearing runs hot or which sensor trips after rain.

Nonconformity (NC) vs. CAPA: When to Use Which?
Non-conformities can be as simple as a safety guard left open, a machine leaking oil, a batch that doesn’t meet quality standards, or a safety check that gets skipped. These are routine nonconformity issues; in other words, deviations you correct quickly to stay compliant and keep production moving. But not every issue should be closed out and forgotten.
